Notice of Passing of Heritage By-laws
Take Notice that on the 20th day of March, 2023, the Council for the Township of Cavan Monaghan passed by-laws listed below to repeal and replace Village of Millbrook Heritage By-law 84-8 and 84-12 designating properties identified below in accordance with Sections 29 and 31, Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.18.
The changes bring the by-laws into compliance with current legislation and clearly define the significance of each property. The properties listed below are worthy of designation under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act for their cultural heritage value, and meet Ontario Regulation 9/06, the provincial criteria prescribed for municipal designation under the categories of design/physical value as well as a contextual value within the Township of Cavan Monaghan.

Any person may object by filing with the Clerk of the Township of Cavan Monaghan and the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT), no later than May 1, 2023, a notice of appeal setting out the objection and the reasons in support of the objection. The notice of appeal must be accompanied by a certified cheque, money order, or credit card payment in Canadian funds in the amount of $1100.00. Certified cheques and money orders should be made payable to the Minister of Finance. Appeal forms are available on the OLT website at https://olt.gov.on.ca.
