Clear Bag Program

The Township of Cavan Monaghan’s curbside household waste collection is a service provided to all residents for household waste disposal.

The Township follows the Clear Bag Program which has been shown to encourage appropriate sorting of waste, keeping recyclable and hazardous waste out of the landfill.

Curbside collection for all residents take place on:

• Wednesday for North Monaghan collection
• Friday for Millbrook and Cavan collection

• Waste collection must be curbside by 7:00 am
• Only clear transparent bags will be accepted curbside and at the Transfer Station
• Coloured or tinted garbage bags will not be accepted
• Residential household waste addresses have a two (2) bag limit
• Commercial zoned addresses have a four (4) bag limit
• One grocery bag sized, non-transparent privacy bag is allowed in each clear bag (for the disposal of sensitive materials).
• Privacy bags must be placed in the clear garbage bag on collection day
• Collectors have the right to refuse pick up if clear bags contain more than 10% recyclable material
