Water Management Update - April 11, 2025 Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site

On April 11, 2025: Parks Canada is advising that significant increases to already high water levels are expected throughout the system. Water levels are expected to remain high for at least one-two weeks and are subject to fluctuation as a result of forecasted precipitation, temperature and melting snow throughout the system. Parks Canada is actively managing the waterway to help balance the impacts of rising water levels.

Parks Canada will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as necessary.

Due to high water levels, strong currents, and debris from the recent ice storm, the public is advised to keep a safe distance from Trent-Severn Waterway sites, including locks, dams, and riverbanks as hazardous conditions could be present.

Parks Canada's water management team continues to actively monitor water levels and flows, and weather forecasts across the Trent-Severn Waterway. These factors are used to determine dam operations on a daily basis for the waterway.
