Public Information Centre - Reconstruction of Lisa Court

The Township of Cavan Monaghan is planning to reconstruct Lisa Court as shown on the plan below. The study area currently has an urbanized cross-section with poor pavement conditions and numerous issues with the underground infrastructure. The water, sanitary and storm sewer infrastructure in the study area is nearing the end of its service life and requires replacement in order to provide reliable services to residents. The purpose of this project is to replace the watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and to reconstruct the road.

A Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Cavan Monaghan Municipal Office in Council Chambers located at 988 County Road 10, Millbrook, ON. The purpose of this PIC is to provide information about the proposed scope of the project, present plans showing the proposed improvements, and receive input about any local issues within the study area. The PIC will be a

drop-in format with displays showing the proposed work. Staff from the Township and the Consultant Company will be on hand to answer any questions. Subject to comments received and the receipt of necessary approvals, the Township intends to proceed with the construction of this project in the summer/fall of 2024.

As part of this project, the Township will be replacing the watermain and all water services within the road allowance. Water services within the road allowance will be replaced with a PEX (polyethylene) material. The Township will also be replacing the sanitary sewer laterals up to the property line, as well as bringing a storm sewer lateral to the property line for the opportunity for homeowners to connect their sump pumps and/or foundation drains. Homeowners will be responsible for the cost of installation on their private property if they wish to replace their water service and/or sanitary sewer lateral. Having a Contractor onsite for the road reconstruction will provide an opportunity for cost savings on installation.
