PFHT Health Clinic caring for sick children with in person appointments
‘Tis the season for colds, the flu, and other common illnesses!
The Peterborough Family Health Team continues to support the increasing number of residents without a
family doctor or nurse practitioner through the PFHT Health Clinic.
The PFHT Health Clinic is a clinic that provides in-person appointments to “unattached patients”. Unattached patients are defined as those who do not have a primary care provider, such as a family doctor or nurse practitioner. This is problematic as primary care is the front door to all health services in Ontario.
The problem-specific (episodic) health concerns that can be addressed at the PFHT Health Clinic include - but are not limited to - the following:
- Sore Ears/Throat
- UTI/Bladder Infections
- New Sprains / Strains
- Minor Burns
- Eye Redness or Irritation
- Skin Infections or Rashes
- Wound checks
Patients are required to book an appointment by calling 705-651-4866.
The PFHT Health Clinic is not a walk-in clinic. It will not prescribe controlled substances or narcotics to any patient. The clinic is also not a replacement for a primary care provider.
The PFHT Health Clinic has two locations: Lakefield and Peterborough. The Youth Appointments for those ages 0-17 occur in Peterborough at 185 King Street, fifth floor. Street parking and the King Street Parkade are available for patients.
To ensure our patients' and employees' health and safety, all guests are requested to wear a mask in our clinics. Masks are available as soon as you enter the waiting room. For other details, please visit www.peterboroughfht.com
