The Township of Cavan Monaghan, in conjunction with Trent Severn Waterway and the Otonabee Regional Conservation Authority (ORCA) Flood Warning , issued January 2023, advises all residents in the Otonabee River area that flooding is occurring or imminent.
We have been advised that current conditions may worsen.
All residents along the Otonabee River in Cavan Monaghan, in low lying and flood prone areas are asked to take immediate action for their personal safety and valued property, and to monitor the water levels in their area.
Residents are asked to make arrangements for alternate accommodations for their safety, if and when required.
The Cavan Monaghan Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) will be monitoring the situation on an on-going basis until the water level subsides.
During flood situations emergency services response, including Police, Fire and EMS, will be
significantly affected. Response times may be greatly lengthened and/or service may be inhibited
