Watermain Replacement Construction Project
Please be advised that the watermain replacement project along Frederick Street, Anne Street, and Cavan Street is scheduled to begin April 22, 2026. The Area of Construction is illustrated on the adjacent map.

The following table provides an estimated schedule of the planned works:

Please note that the timeline is approximate and will vary depending upon weather and other factors. An updated schedule will be provided to residents as the project progresses and as work commences along the sidestreets.
As outlined at the Public Information Centre (PIC) meeting held February 26, 2026, the project will include the replacement of existing watermain, water services, storm water drainage improvements, and full road surface reconstruction.
Please find information below for specific issues that may arise during construction.
Temporary Watermain:
As part of this construction project, a new watermain will be installed within the street. The contractor will be connecting homes to a temporary watermain that brings water from fire hydrants in the surrounding area to each household so that the old watermain can be replaced. Water service connections to your home will be through an outdoor hose tap (if available). Water service must be temporarily turned off at each property while the contractor disconnects from the old water connection and connects to the temporary water connection. We recommend that you disconnect any water treatment systems (i.e water softeners, filters) for the duration of the construction.
Water Service Connections:
As part of the new watermain installation, the Contractor will be replacing the water service to each building up to property line with a new shut-off valve. If you wish to upgrade your service from the street from a ¾ inch to a 1-inch service, please contact the Township. This upgrade in service size will only benefit future building additions to the property.
House Survey:
Although construction can be disruptive, we ask for your patience to complete this work. Heavy equipment will generate noise and vibration at times. Homeowners often worry that vibration may cause damage to their buildings. OZA Inspections Ltd. will conduct a survey of all buildings within 30 meters of the proposed construction area to address those concerns.
The survey includes an interior/exterior inspection, including photographs of buildings and structures, or portions thereof determined to be near the construction activities. There is no cost to residents for this service. Your permission and cooperation in helping us to complete this survey as soon as possible is greatly appreciated. During these inspections, Township Staff may be present to conduct an inspection of sump pump discharge to ensure sump pumps are not connected to the Sanitary Service.
Additional information regarding OZA Inspections Ltd., and how to book an appointment will be distributed to residents in the near future.
Garbage and Recycling Collection:
Garbage and recycling will be collected as per normal schedule. Please ensure that your garbage and recycling is at the road prior to 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled day of collection and that your garbage and recycling bins have your address marked on them. If the trucks are unable to access your driveway, our staff will move them to a collection point and return them after collection.
Driveway Access:
Access to driveways will be maintained, however, it may be restricted when operations are directly in front of your property. The Contractor will notify residents and businesses as work approaches to ensure all vehicles are removed prior to blocking the driveway. Vehicles may need to be parked overnight in an adjacent location until temporary access can be restored to your driveway.
Safety Concerns:
Please be aware that the nature of work involves excavations, operation of large heavy equipment, etc. Please keep a safe distance from all work areas.
