Road Needs Study Report - 2016

Notice to Residents & Businesses

Notice to Residents of Main Street - Please be advised construciton to the Storm Sewer on the east side of Main Street will begin on Friday October 21, 2016 at 7:00 a.m.leae see attached Notice for further details.

 The Frederick Street Road Upgrade and Residential Servicing is anticipated to commence on October 17th, 2016.
 Please see attached Notice to Residents for further information concerning this project.

  A section of County Rd 21 (King St West) will be closed to vehicle through-traffic from Union Street to Cavan Street beginning Tuesday, August 2, 2016 to facilitate the replacement of the watermain, water services, storm sewer and sidewalk installation and road reconstruction, all in accordance with a previously completed Class Environmental Assessment.

The Public Works Department maintains approximately 235 kilometres of roads (paved, gravel and surface treated), along with 9,202 meters of side-walks and 253 street-lights.

The Public Works Department is actively involved in a number of road construction projects that are scheduled for completion this year (2012) and routinely performs various summer and winter operations. Please see Summer Maintenance and Winter Maintenance for additional information on these seasonal operations.

Adopt-A-Road Program

The Township of Cavan Monaghan's Adopt-A-Road Program has been established as a public service program for volunteers to enhance the local litter collection activities of the Municipality by collecting litter along the Township Road Right-of-Ways. It is an opportunity for environmentally conscious citizens to make a personal contribution to a cleaner and more beautiful environment. Please contact the Deputy Clerk for additional information.
