Summer Company Startups Announced

Peterborough & the Kawarthas Business Advisory Centre is pleased to once again support the creation of new student-owned and operated companies with the announcement of seven business start-ups through the Government of Ontario’s Summer Company program.

The following entrepreneurs will be connected with training, mentorship and up to $3,000 in funding through Summer Company:

Wesley Penney

Nutfit Program

Quality professional workout and fitness programing for those new and experienced to fitness

Samantha Hourie

Travelling Footcare Reflexology

Provides mobile foot reflexology: pressure techniques that help to reduce stress, enhance circulation and normalize metabolism

Michael Tucker

Tucker’s Lawn & Order

Providing landscaping services that are focused on assisting seniors with manual labour and landscaping projects

Austin Murray

AGM Academics

Assisting Elementary and High school students through Math and Science by using incentive/tracking charts and lesson books to track and promote progressive learning


“We are excited to kick off another season of Summer Company,” said Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development’s Director of Business Development, Suzanne McCrimmon. “This program allows enterprising, young professionals to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty as they learn the fundamentals of owning and operating a business.”

Summer Company, Ontario’s flagship youth entrepreneurship program, provides students aged 15 to 29 with the opportunity to open and operate their own business over the summer. Peterborough & the Kawarthas Business Advisory Centre has been the proud program provider for the City and County of Peterborough since 2001.
